Selection strategy
In December 2016, when World Rugby was seeing a change in the eligibility rules for international assortment. FFR president Bernard Laporte declared that the body would want that all France national team members hold French passports. Early life
Uini Atonio was intuitive in Timaru, New Zealand to Samoan fathers. He joined Wesley College, Auckland, where he joked rugby for the 1st XV. And was asked to join the Counties Manukau rugby academy. He exemplified Samoa under the 20s at the 2009 IRB Junior World Championship in Japan. Atonio united the Counties Manukau ITM Cup team in 2010.
Debut for France
Atonio was employed by Patrice Collazo to seam La Rochelle for the 2011–12 Pro D2 term. In 2014, he completed the compulsory three years of placement to qualify for France internationally. And was involved in the 30-man France team for the 2014 November matches. He made his entrance for France in their 40–15 victory over Fiji on 8 November 2014.

Marcel Communeau
(1885–1971). A back-rower for Stade Français at the shillelagh level played in France’s first official international competition. Against New Zealand’s Original All Blacks in 1906. He went on to get 21 caps for France, serving as skipper for the country’s first Five Nations arrival. In 1910 and led France to its first-ever win in that rivalry 1911 against Scotland. Communeau is also credited with signifying that France adopts the rooster as its side emblem. He arrived at the World Rugby Hall in 2015.
Jean Prat
(1923–2005). Received 51 caps playing for France from 1945 to 1955, and skippered France to their first wins over Wales and the All Blacks. He was also France’s skipper in 1954 when they gained their first-ever Five Nations. Prat was inaugurated to the International Hall of Fame in 2001 and the IRB Hall of Fame in 2011.
Lucien Mias
(Born 1930), nicknamed Docteur Pack, was accredited with inventing the idea of the advantage line in forward play. When invested in the IRB Hall of Fame in 2011, he was called one of the most influential skippers in his country. He was most renowned for captaining France to a Test series victory over South Africa in 1958, the first such achievement in the 20th century for a touring lineup.
Uniform and colors
