“Japan manager Alberto Zaccheroni had told FIFA.com he hoped to seal requirement in front of our supporters, and thanks to a 91st-minute penalty conversion by Keisuke Honda that cancelled out Tommy Oar’s opener of just 9 minutes before, they were able to achieve just that. We did not give up until the end and we finally got this effect”
After the final whistle, adding, I felt the burden but I took the penalty full of confidence, and I ended it. Honda, who plays his club football at Russian winners CSKA Moscow, is just one of a sizable contingent of Europe-based players in Zaccheroni’s squad, and next to the draw with Australia, he singled out that reality as 1 of the details why
Japan could be a side to be calculated with at the 2014 World Cup. Now so many Japanese players are playing in EU leagues some of them are playing for big clubs, he said. Those players have shown what they learned from finished European league experiences. That’s been shown in our latest grades. Japan will be joining in their 5th successive World Cup finals this in Qatar,
In 2 of the previous 4, they managed to grow to the Round of 16. Nevertheless, they endure an unidentified quantity in many parts of the world, somewhat that’s no doubt due, at least in part, to the time zone in which they play. Following is a quick look at the Japanese national team, their manager and a few things to look for when they competition both the upcoming Leagues Cup and the 2014 World Cup.
Manager Alberto Zaccheroni
Appointed next to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the 60-year-old transported to Japan a curriculum vitae that included the 1999 Scudetto with AC Milan. He was able to add the 2011 AFC Asian Cup to his list of actions in 2011 and now can add Football World Cup qualification to his name as well.
“I think that when we emphasise and perform at our usual level with the star companies we have we can put pressure on any team. Against Australia, Zaccheroni used a 4-2-3-1 setup with Captain Makoto Has be (Wolfsburg and all-time appearance leader Naruhito Endo (Gamba Osaka) anchoring the midfield. Operating in front of them was the playmaking trio of Honda (CSKA Moscow),”
Shinji Kagawa (Manchester United) and Ryoichi Maeda (Jubilo Iwata), while Shinji Okazaki (Stuttgart) led the line. Atsuto Uchida (Schalke) and Yuto Nagatomo (Inter Milan) served as the full-backs with Yasuyuki Konno (Gamba Osaka) and Maya Yoshida (Southampton) in the centre of defence. Eiji Kawashima (Standard Liege) was the initial goalkeeper.
Japan vs Spain: Key Strength, Playmaking
Japan was 1 of the more enjoyable sides to watch at the 2012 Olympic Games where they beat Spain, and though only a handful of players from that team are involved in World Cup succeeding, quick passing and cultured buildup play have become something of a Japanese hallmark.
Honda and Kagawa are the key playmakers on Zaccheroni’s side, but Endo is skilled at relating himself in the passing match from a deeper position as well. With Uchida and Nagatomo adding an element of width to the bout, Japan Football World Cup can give an adversary several different looks throughout a match.
Noticeable Weakness: Central Defense
Zaccheroni had approximately injuries to deal with on Tuesday, yet his side was once again unable to keep a clean sheet. Japan prefer to have the ball, and when they’re employed with it, they can find the back of the net against almost anybody. But when dispossessed, they are weak, as demonstrated by their present record of one clean sheet from their last 7 games.
Japan are in a rough group at the Confederations Cupid includes Brazil, Italy and Mexico. Getting out of that strut would be a massive achievement, albeit one they’re unlikely to realize. At the FIFA World Cup, however, they’ll once again be expected to get into the Round of 16. Then they’ll hope to fee to the quarterfinals for the 1st time in their history.
