Club Career
Abdelkarim
Hassan graduated from Aspire Academy in 2011. He was the youngest player to
ever appear in the 2011 AFC Champions League at the age of 17, coming off the
bench against Esteghlal. His team reappeared as Champions League champions that
year. He was named Young Player of the Year in the 2012-13 Qatar Stars League.
It was announced
in June 2017 that Al Sadd loaned him to Eupen Belgian First Division A. Later,
he won the 2018 Asian Footballer of the Year. Abdelkarim played in the FIFA
Club World Cup, where he scored in a 1-1 draw against Hienghene Sport. He later
scored in the second round and lost 3-2 to CF. Monterrey. Al-Sadd finished in
5th place.
International
Career
Abdelkarim
scored in the UAE U20 in the 10th International Friendship Youth Tournament. In
a friendly match with a Malaysian under-23 team on June 17, 2012, Abdelkarim
sparked a march between the two sides after a two-legged encounter with Mohd
Arif in the 43rd minute. He was properly shown a red card for his challenge.
After that, a
Malaysian athlete, Nazmi Faiz, ran halfway across the field to meet him and
punched him. Shorter by 5 inches [5 cm] shorter than Abdelkarim's, Nazmi's fist
turned into something more than the pressure on his chest. Nazmi Faiz was shown
a red card, while Qatar went on to lose 2-0. He scored in Qatar's opening game
against the Maldives in the 2014 AFC U-22 Asian Cup qualifier. Abdelkarim
appeared in the national team on November 18, 2010, against Haiti. For more to know about FIFA
